9. G.B. Southwest girls shine on the pitch

Green Bay Southwest became the first Green Bay public school to reach a WIAA state title game in girls' soccer. The Trojans, who had only three seniors, finished as the Division 2 runners-up in their first state appearance since 2003. Southwest advanced to state by winning a 4-3 shootout over Pewaukee. Amber Nolle scored the lone goal in a 1-0 victory over Rhinelander in the semifinals, which saw Toni Champion record her second shutout of the playoffs.
